Objects on display at The Lighthouse for the Blind and at the Tactual Museum gift shop include ceramic items created in the Ceramics Workshop as well as brushes and brooms created in the brush factory.

Many of the objects created by the blind are sold in The Boutique in order to help support the ceramics workshops. The items for sale include household items (napkin holders, trays, vases) and art objects all created by the blind and multi-handicapped on-site.

The boutique is located in the lobby area of the Tactual Museum where it enjoys a constant flow of traffic from individuals and school groups who tour the museum. The items for sale in the boutique are considered to be fairly priced and are a source of pride for their creators who are thrilled to be able to support the workshops through the sale of their creations.

Your support can keep the Ceramics Boutique in business. Your donations will be targeted to purchasing and implementing an online purchase system that allows for sale of the ceramic creations over the internet. Eventually donations will support the fulfillment, packaging, and mailing activities of the boutique in order to allow the boutique to sell ceramic objects all over the world. The goal is to make the ceramics workshop a self-sustaining program through the sale of the creations of the blind clients. Click below to make a donation to keep these programs alive!

2017 The Need Continues

After decades of slowly improving circumstances for the sightless in Greece, conditions for the blind have taken a drastic downturn as a result of the faltering economy of Greece. If you have ever considered helping to improve the lives of others less fortunate than you, now is the perfect time to act.
